Been here 3 times and service is always on point. I haven't tried all of their taco meat options but I go to is queso fundido with chorizo, birria with cheese taco, and a shrimp taco. They are all so good, the tacos are a bit pricey but worth it as they have a lot of meat. I definitely recommend this place for good Mexican style tacos. I'd say they are the best in Walnut Creek/Concord area. Hard to find decent Mexican food here in the east bay without having to go to Oakland.

The tacos and steak fries were bomb.com. I would come back for more. Great place to dine in for some good food and drinks. Came here with my lil man to catch a vibe.

Tacos El Patron has quickly become one of my favorite spots! I've now visited three times, two days in a row on my most recent trip, and each visit has been an exceptional experience, and service. This time, I decided to explore the menu further and tried the carne asada taco, chicken taco, and vampiro. Every bite was absolutely scrumptious--the flavors are vibrant, authentic, and perfectly balanced. I also tried their horchata for the first time, and it was amazing! The cinnamon and sweet flavors blended beautifully, making it the best horchata I've ever had. Beyond the food, the ambiance adds so much to the experience. The restaurant is full of culture, with lively and vibrant decor that instantly sets the mood. They have big-screen TVs playing games, which is perfect for sports fans, and the music is upbeat and enjoyable, creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit in December, and this time, I'll be bringing my spouse to share this wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend Tacos El Patron for anyone who appreciates delicious Mexican food in a lively and culturally rich setting!

As I ordered two tacos - quesabirria and fried fish - I wondered if it might not be enough for lunch. I considered ordering a third but was pleasantly surprised by how large they were. They were very generous, packed with favorable, well seasoned meat and a perfect blend of spices. A variety of hot sauces in small squeeze bottles added a fun touch. Every bite was delicious and I left completely stuffed. The sides - beans, onions, cactus, radish, along with chips and salsa were the perfect complement. The staff was very friendly and the decor in the fairly newly renovated bar felt authentically charming. I'm looking forward to coming back for dinner to try one of their yummy drinks and dessert!

I love this place. They have done a nice job expanding it from a small stand to a sit down restaurant with a full bar. This place is about the tacos, get them. Service is fine but it's not a white table cloth joint. Homespun feel Great value

So I know this place has been around for a while but it took me a while to get turned onto it, not realizing that they have some of the best birria around. It's so juicy and tastes to perfection. They've raise their prices a couple times recently, It seems like it's a little more expensive each time I come but that's pretty much everywhere these days. It just means I can only get 1 or 2 and opposed to 3 but they are pretty filling so 2 is usually enough anyways. Service is pretty good and I love the salsa bar, (side note) they keep the salsa chilled and it's always very clean so kudos to them for keeping it fresh and clean. I've tried other things from there and it's always been good but the star of the show is definitely the birria.

If you're looking for an unforgettable Mexican dining experience, this newly renovated gem is a must-visit! The minute you walk in you se the restaurant is full! They have a great bar area with a FULL bar! Specializing in all sorts of food we always come here for the Birria, they serve it in nearly every form imaginable!!! From the classic tacos to indulgent tortas and even birria ramen. The flavors are rich, with that perfect slow-cooked savoriness that birria lovers crave. The tacos are crispy, generously stuffed, and served with a side of consommé that's just bursting with flavor. The renovations added a sleek full bar that brings the vibe up a notch. The bartenders are skilled, offering a solid lineup of cocktails that pair perfectly with the bold flavors of birria. Whether you want a margarita with a twist or a classic Mexican cocktail, the bar has you covered. We ordered the prickly pear margarita and the Paloma and both were delicious and strong! The atmosphere is new, cool and lively, with a modern touch post-renovation that makes it feel fresh and like a sit down restaurant. After the renovation they got rid of their outside seating which was kind of nice! The service is friendly and knowledgeable, with servers who know the menu inside and out and can guide you through the options if you're new to birria or want to try something new. If you're in the mood for comfort food with bold flavors and a fun, casual setting, this spot has it all. Man all the sauces they have are so good, there are four different kind all ranging in heat intensity!

Good taqueria. Pretty full on the weekend. They give complimentary chips and when ordered two plus tacos you get two side options. Our service was good. There's a bar at the taqueria so it's also a good place for those who want a quick bite and drinks. I wouldn't say it's the best taqueria in the area but cannot to wrong with this place-- also plenty of parking but I had to wait for a little bit on late weekend lunch hour

I went this spot for a work lunch as we were told this is one of the best Mexican spots. And indeed it was! Don't like the outside fool you, these were some of the best tacos I've had. These were about $6 each and super loaded. The taco patron had these delicious shrimp and layer of cheese. The Vampiro was loaded with meat and guac. The chips and salsa also came with these 4 sauces of varying levels of spicy. We came a bit after 1pm and they were a full house. We waited about 10 mins for a table. I would definitely come back. Staff were super friendly and there is a handful of parking spots outside.
